A change of environment today! Morning is spent with my ma. First time to grab a coffee in months. I don't drink coffee that much since I am a little sensitive and is inclined to palpitate once caffeine kicks in. I don't drink alcohol either for the same reasons. Limited to just maybe a tablespoon or so of Pierre Mignon or some red wine on some rad pasta recipe I just invented.
Arctic Monkeys is one of those bands that I go back to whenever I'm feeling empty handed. Well, besides from Incubus, RHCP and Fat Boy Slim. Well, I'm not exactly empty-handed this week, it's just, I just had the greatest discovery yesterday with this post and thought I'd give Arctic Monkeys a short visit. Damn, I think I won't be listening to any pop or electronic music this coming week.
I think, in my opinion, Arctic Monkeys has improved and developed new music while still retaining that swagger and smoothness they had from the beginning. Their songs got a tad slower and darker but I am not complaining. Still music. Damn, I've been a fan of them since I was like grade school while everyone else was listening to Neyo and Usher. Come hell or high water, I'd prefer Arctic Monkeys over Usher.
I'm really into this song. Simple but cool in many dimensions.
Okay, that's it. I'm leaving this here. Throwback Thursday (Friday in my time).
Lately, the music I have been listening to has been lackluster. So today, I decided to listen to a little bit of rock. I present to you Portugal The Man.
Modern Jesus
Happy and cheery vibes care of Madeon.
Also, RAC is on my playlist again today. Specifically this playlist. I usually prefer listening to his upped and energized covers but I also like these mixes. They're clean and feel just right.
Also, if you're leaning towards a darker mood today, I found great music for you! One is Tycho and other one is Shuljo. They're a little like The XX meets Explosions in the Sky but with a more energized and electrified flavor. And maybe they're a tidbit less popular but hey, that's why I'm sharing! I think both artists/bands need to get their tunes listened to more. They deserve more ears. Really.
Tycho
Shuljo
Sunday's a great chill day. DJ Grumble's the perfect companion. Chill rap, chill sounds, chill vibes. Best thing about DJ Grumble is that he let's you listen and play his music for free. And yes! we can download most of his tracks.
Practice practice practice. I have here 2 Eren Jaegers from Attack on Titan
And this one, this afternoon.
Royce chocolates are the best.
I've just finished the macha one and decided to open this. This little devil was ... it was superb.
With banana, it was heavenly.
Think of it this way, I have cake, cookies, ice cream, pudding and everything in the fridge but the one thing I reach for is this and some bananas.
Next you pass a Royce shop and you don't know what to get your date, get this one.
It will win. It wins.
Good vibes today brought to you by Haerts and Felix Cartal. It feels so good to start a day with good music and good vibes.
Can we dance?
Listening to Felix Cartal feels like a dream. Like that moment when you were running to catch the bus and the moment you get to the station, there is that one seat left just for you. Oh, simple joys.
I coincidentally met a very much missed friend yesterday while on the way to the station. Strange, just a few moments before I saw her I was thinking of her. Good times.
Things just keep getting better everyday.
I should start taking pictures for these great memories to last. Who knows, these accidents might never happen again!
Also, it's Valentines tomorrow! Excited, yes? Nervous, yes? No need to worry, whether you're single or with a lovely companion, it won't be a shitty day as long as you keep your chin up. Who knows, right? Tomorrow might be the day.
Happy hearts day!
Hey! Today wasn't much. Did a little of Java but that's about it. It has been 2 years since I last looked into programming in Java. Whew. Anyway, good vibes from Little Daylight. They have provided me some good flowing energy all day. They have really good remixes.
Here's their single that I have been listening to the whole day yesterday, Overdose.
The remix of Atlas Genius that I really like.
The remix of Sweater Weather by that I now love.
Also, had some beginner Spanish lessons in the office. Who knew it could be fun. Before taking the course, the only Spanish I knew by heart was "Muy bien", "Vamos a comer", "No entiendo" and "La Biblioteca" by Troy and Abed from Community. The lyrics are ridiculously funny especially when translated. Too bad it doesn't air anymore. If you haven't seen it, go see it!
Here's a playlist of Little Daylight's songs and mixes.
Mark Haddon's A Spot Of Bother is enticing. It is about a man who gradually drowns in his own insanity in a very demure and subtle way. He goes through a period of silent surrender unto his own demons. I think the book is very fitting for people who have no idea how to deal with their personal issues or for people with a lot of family issues at home. I guess, in their own ways, the characters in the book, from degrading family relationships, managed to get up and fight their life struggles. This is especially emphasized on George, the main man in the book, who demonstrates us how one can gracefully diminish into madness and loneliness without causing too much impact and drama to his family and friends.
I won't give a lot of clues what to expect from the book. Just this, something from the book that I will probably take away and actually do when I get depressed or troubled by something or anything (except for number four, I wont tell why). I think these are good and helpful habits (maybe occasionally for five).
It is a good read. I thought it would be similar to Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime but this book is in a heavier and more serious mood, more suitable for older folks. Nonetheless, Haddon's articulate writing still reigns.
Listening to Ben Khan today. Yesterday, I mentioned listening to JUNGLE and Jai Paul. By the end of the day, after listening to both myriad of times, I felt estranged, lacking and missing since there weren't enough hard hitting slow beats soul to listen to anymore. So, out of confusion, I went around exploring other artists and found Ben Khan.
Listening to his songs, it brings out such a remarkable grand feeling deep inside. I mean, It powers up your swagger. Like, you'll feel a ton of cool listening to Ben Khan despite having the most uncool day of the year. Too bad he only has 3 tracks up on his soundcloud. I need more Ben Khan! Ben Khan, please make more music. I love your music.

I hope you could help me out and recommend similar music. I need music like this!
Early morning caffeine brought to you by Kendrick Lamar.
And . . . Kendrick Lamar is going radioactive! I just heard the sample audio from Interscope Records and it is sick. Can't get over Kendrick Lamar's epic rap.
Alongside Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar, Zedd also brought out new music today.
Besides from above mentioned, today's playlist also include JUNGLE and Jai Paul. Both have really hard and low hitting beats with slow moving jazz and at the same time both possess distinct sounds with respect to composition and quality. I feel the soul in their music.
So lucky to have stumbled upon both artists.
I present to you JUNGLE's the Heat.
And here's a personal favorite, Platoon.
Also, here is Jai Paul's BTSTU Demo. Slow hard hitting music. Just amazing.
I like the Jai Paul's edit version better though. You might want to check that too.
And here is another piece why you should watch out for Jai Paul, Jasmine.
